The City of Spokane Valley unveiled its new City Hall with a special ceremony and open house on Saturday, Oct. 14. The building is located at 10210 E. Sprague Avenue at the former University City Mall site, long considered to be the heart of Spokane Valley. In addition to providing a permanent home for city services, the city hopes the $14.1 million building will serve as a catalyst to attract new businesses and development into the area. The city had previously leased city hall space. The new building was funded with $6.3 million in cash set aside specifically by the city, and $7.8 million in limited tax general obligation bond proceeds. By not continuing to lease space, the city expects to save $8.6 million over the 30-year bond repayment period. Read more about the project.
