Spokane was one of four “next American ski towns” featured in Powder magazine’s December 2017 issue. The magazine highlighted the Spokane area for its affordable home/rental prices, easy access to high quality ski hills, and a developing urban center that offers entertainment and a vibrant culture for skiing enthusiasts. There are five great ski areas – Schweitzer, Mount Spokane, Silver Mountain, Lookout Pass and 49 Degrees North – all within 70 miles of Spokane Valley. Other cities featured in the article include Reno, Nevada; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Waterbury, Vermont.
