If there is one art event in western Washington not to be missed, it is the Spokane Valley Arts Council (SVAC) Annual Showcase and Auction.
The 2019 event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 12, at CenterPlace Regional Event Center in Mirabeau Point Park. The event includes “quick finish” demonstrations by regional artists beginning about 5 p.m., followed by a live auction at 6:30 p.m.
The auction is a favorite among regional art enthusiasts and collectors. It provides an opportunity to watch talented artists complete their artwork (which may be auctioned off later that evening), as well as bid on incredible pieces of art in a range from the low hundreds to several thousand dollars. All proceeds from the auction are used by the SVAC to commission monuments and sculptures that will enhance the beauty and culture of Spokane Valley.
