The Spokesman-Review Newspaper has announced that it will move its print publishing operations from North Monroe Street in downtown Spokane to a new building in the 19200 block of East Euclid Avenue in Spokane Valley’s northeast industrial area. The building, in construction, should be completed in late fall or early winter 2019.

The newspaper is moving to a new building being constructed by Centennial Real Estate Investment. Centennial is a subsidiary of Cowles Co., which owns both the newspaper and a large portion of the land in the industrial area. The move also includes the purchase of additional equipment, including a smaller more versatile printing press to increase the newspaper’s revenue from outside print contracts. The new location is easily accessible from both Interstate 90 and Trent Avenue.

The North Monroe press building in downtown Spokane has about 168,000 square feet, including industrial space that could be converted into a brewery, restaurant or retail, according to Stacey Cowles, the newspaper’s publisher. In June, it was announced that Dry Fly Distilling would move its production facility, as well as a tasting room and bottle shop, into the press building on North Monroe.
