Crown West plans Barker Logistics Center in Spokane Valley

Sign on land for barker logistics center.Spokane Valley-based Crown West Realty LLC plans to develop a 600,000-square-foot, multibuilding industrial park on nearly 40 acres of vacant industrial land that it has purchased on Barker Road in Spokane Valley.

The company, which owns and operates the massive Spokane Business & Industrial Park in the Valley, plans to break ground on the first building at the site before the end of 2021 and will complete that structure by April 2022, says Dean Stuart, vice president of Crown West. The first of the buildings will be a 120,000-square-foot concrete, tilt-up distribution center with 36-foothigh ceilings.

The rest of the site will be used for build-to-suit projectswith the potential for buildings with up to 450,000 square feet, says StuartAltogether, the site can host up to 600,000 squarefeet of warehouse space. The company will focus on a distribution-centered industrial park, although manufacturing companies may also find the location appealing.

Crown West purchased the property, located on the southeast corner of Barker Road and Garland Avenue, in January for $7 million through its holding company Crown-Barker LLC, according to Spokane County Assessor’s Office records.

The planned industrial park, dubbed the Barker Logistics Center, is located just east of the Spokane Business & Industrial Park, at 3808 N. Sullivan Road

Crown West also is currently working on the 500,000-square-foot Euclid Logistics Centerat the northwest corner of Euclid Avenue and Flora Road within the SBIPThe second of four buildings is currently underway, with construction set to be completed by May.

Spokane Valley-based Divcon Inc. is the contractor on that project, which was designed by Russell C. Page Architects PS, of Spokane.
