CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY
NOTICE OF SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL RATE CHANGES

Pursuant to RCW 35A.21.152, the City of Spokane Valley hereby provides notice of new solid waste collection and disposal rates for customers that live within Spokane Valley. These rates will take effect January 1, 2026.  For customers of WM (Waste Management), rate adjustments are based on the current rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and also on a state-mandated, Business and Occupation tax surcharge on large companies with annual revenues with more than $250,000,000 passed by the Washington Legislature which takes effect January 1, 2026. For customers of Sunshine Disposal and Recycling, rate adjustments are based on the current rate of inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and also on a state-mandated Business and Occupation tax passed by the Washington Legislature.
