Lodging Tax Grant Program Application Period Opens

SPOKANE VALLEY, WA—The City of Spokane Valley is now accepting applications for 2026 tourism grants. The City is seeking organizations and public agencies that promote tourism and enhance economic activity in Spokane Valley.

The grants are funded by lodging tax revenues generated by a tax imposed on overnight stays at hotels and motels within the city. Revenues are dedicated specifically to funding tourism-related events and marketing activities, as the goal of the Lodging Tax Grant Program is to attract overnight visitors to Spokane Valley and patronize local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, shops and other services.

Interested applicants can view the Request for Proposals (RFP) for specific information, guidelines and instructions on how to submit a proposal for the 2026 Lodging Tax Grant funding. To apply for a grant, applicants must complete the online application and submit all required materials no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

The applications will first be evaluated by the city’s volunteer Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC), which will evaluate qualifying applications on a competitive basis using the City Council’s adopted goals and priorities. The LTAC’s recommendations will be forwarded to the City Council for consideration and final approval, which is anticipated to occur in December 2025.

For more information or questions about the grant program, visit SpokaneValleyWA.gov/190 or contact Accounting and Finance Program Manager Sarah Farr at sfarr@SpokaneValleyWA.gov or 509-720-5041.
