South Barker Road Corridor Projects
The city is planning improvement projects on south Barker Road from Mission Avenue to the city boundary just south of 8th Street.

Traffic congestion in the south Barker Road corridor has increased rapidly due to extensive growth in the city, county and neighboring Liberty Lake. The city is planning to improve the capacity of the corridor to handle this emerging growth.
Current conditions in the corridor include a three-lane road north of Boone Avenue with bike lanes, curb, gutter and sidewalks; a two-lane road south of Boone without curb, gutters or sidewalks; and single-lane roundabouts at the I-90 interchange. The city is working to improve the quality of both Barker Road and various intersections.
